In January 2017 Vermont Chamber Artists formed a new group of 16 professional Vermont and New Hampshire choral singers dedicated to giving back to their community.
My name is Jessica Pierpont, I am the Artistic Director and conductor of the Vermont Chamber Artists. For our first concert I chose a selection of favorite works ranging from the Middle Ages to the 21st century. We use each piece as an opportunity to explore creativity, and honor the composer’s intent while adding new and exciting elements into every performance. The first concert included pieces by Thomas Tallis, Ola Gjeilo, Eric Whitacre and others.
In February 2018, Vermont Chamber Artists in addition to the choir Counterpoint, an orchestra and soloists from the local area collaborated to perform the Faure Requiem. These concerts benefited the Friends of Veterans Organization, helping veterans get back on their feet from the Vermont and New Hampshire area. In order to ensure the success of this concert we are putting together a few fundraisers throughout the year to help us raise funds and to promote our concert.
Vermont Chamber Artists hosts events throughout the year to help generate funds and to get the word out about our projects. On August 4th, 2017 at the Tunbridge Town Hall in Tunbridge, VT VCA helped put together a summer social event where locals musicians played, food and beer was served and veterans came to promote their own businesses.
Our next concert series, will be hosted in a new location in Burlington, VT. Our two concerts, Illumination will help benefit the Prevent Child Abuse Vermont, organization and Vermont Chamber Artists.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 for our September performances to help cover some of the costs with music, extra musicians, administrative duties and fees for the choristers.
PLEASE help support Vermont Chamber Artists' mission to help cultivate a generous choral scene and creating a positive and helpful influence in our community. Any help is greatly appreciated!
